First of all, it is an honor for me to be asked to present some of my photos.
I am relatively new to photography. Five years ago I had no idea what an SLR
was. A photo store salesperson in San Francisco initially stimulated my interest
in photography. I read everything I could about cameras for two years before
purchasing my first Nikon 6006 in 1997. I was amazed at the results from this
camera. As I became more experienced with it, I realized something was missing.
In 1999, I upgraded to the F5. What a fantastic camera. It allowed me to produce
results I knew were possible but could not achieve before. In late 1999, I
entered the digital arena with the D1. The digital world is truly amazing. The
quality, speed and efficacy of this environment has changed photography as we
knew it in the past. What a fun place in time to be.
I am 53 years old, married for 31 years and have three children. Our
youngest, Anda, loves to go when we hunt sunsets and interesting shots. I have
spent 25 years in the animal health- pharmaceutical - feed industry of animal
agriculture and currently have an active consulting business.
Photography, as a hobby, is fun for me. It offers a chance to capture moments
and events in time that would be passed over in today’s fast paced world. Good
photography elicits a myriad of responses, all different from person to person.
The smile on an older persons face as they recognize a forgotten experience or
the wonder in children as they see bright colors never before visualized through
photography brings much needed enjoyment and peace to the world today.
I hope you enjoy my photographs. I am still learning and certainly open to
any comments you may have for improvement. Again let me say it is indeed an
honor for Darryl and BestFoto to have asked me to present these. |
