Raising our 2 sons,
sending them off to West Point, and watching their careers as Army
officers has been very fulfilling for my husband and I. Now with a little
extra time I rediscovered an old hobby…photography.
I have always enjoyed taking pictures, but about 5 years ago I bought my
first digital camera and suddenly became a serious photographer. I was
thoroughly thrilled, and surprised, when “Pacific Playtime” was my first
picture of the day winner. This inspired me to study the techniques
required to make a ‘fun’ photo better. I studied photography and graduated
from the New York Institute of Photography to improve my skills. There is
no question, most improvement comes from frequent outings and many deleted
pictures. The technical knowledge has only made photography that much more
fun for me while it continues to be a serious challenge. More knowledge
generates more questions. The opportunities for artistic expression seem
to be endless; but the best part of photography is capturing the beautiful
details of life that frequently go unnoticed. The colors and details of
God’s creation seen through the lens seem more vivid. |
