Gallery 11

Laryl Hancock

Photography has been both a way to capture the moments and memories of my family as I grew up and as a way to express what is important to me.  I spent the first 40 years mainly documenting my life with photos of my pets, family members, events and places I would go. My dream now in the next 40 years is to learn to create photographs that will inspire and communicate with the viewer. I am fortunate to have so many online sources for inspiration and instruction. I have a lot to learn and am enjoying the process.

My move to all digital came in 1999. The digital freedom to shoot to my hearts content has brought many favorite images, a few of those I share with you here. After growing up in the Pacific Northwest with its lush forests and mountains, it has been a culture shock to feel at home with the unique desert landscape in Yuma, Arizona where I now live. Finding my style is still a work in progress. I enjoy getting out and finding something that appeals to me and photographing it. I love nature, especially animals, children and enjoy both b/w and color images in pure photograph or artistic rendering styles.

My thanks to Bestfoto for a wonderful site and for allowing me to update this gallery.  I currently have a small photography business that I run from my home and hope you will visit my website at http://www.laryl.com -- I am busy enough that I don't compete in the photo contests these days, but if I did you would find my work here as well!
